Patio Screen Doors · Dallas–Fort Worth
The door that matches the screens.
Doors for the screened patio, made in the same frames and finish as the panels around them, with insect screen or SunTex in the door itself.

One opening, one look.
Made to the opening
Measured and built for the opening it closes, so it swings clear of the floor and seals at the frame.
The same finish
The same frame profile and color as the panels beside it, so the door is the last thing you notice.
The screen in it
No-See-Ums for insects, or SunTex where the door faces the sun, matched to the panels on either side.

Where a door belongs
A screened patio needs a way out to the yard and the pool that does not mean raising a screen. We place the door where people actually walk, which is usually the line between the kitchen door and the pool, and build the panels around it.
Insects get in at the door
On a screened patio the door is where the gaps are. The frame, the threshold and the closer are what keep a patio free of mosquitoes, and they are set at installation rather than left to settle.
Screen Doors: the questions clients ask us first.
Can a door go in beside motorized screens?
Yes. A fixed panel and door at one end of a patio, with motorized screens across the rest, is a common arrangement, and the fabrics are matched.
What screen goes in the door?
Usually No-See-Ums, the tight fiberglass weave that stops gnats and no-see-ums and keeps the breeze. On a door that faces the afternoon sun, SunTex 90 instead.

Guide · What We Install · Dallas–Fort WorthMotorized, Fixed, or a Door
Outdoor Shades makes three things: motorized screens, fixed screen panels, and screen doors. Most patios end up with two of the three. Here is what each one is for, and how we decide which goes where.
Guide · Fixed Panels · Choosing the InfillSunTex, Insect Screen, Glass, or Polycarbonate
A fixed screen panel is a frame and an infill, and the infill is the real choice. Sun fabric, insect mesh, glass, or polycarbonate — each closes an opening a different way. Here is how we pick the one for each side of a patio.
Guide · Fabrics · Phifer SunTex & No-See-UmsWhich Fabric for Your Patio Screens
The fabric decides how much of the yard you keep and how much sun you stop. Here is how to choose the weave for each opening — by which way it faces, and whether it is fighting sun, insects or winter.
