Patio screens in McKinney · Texas

Fixed panels, cedar frames, a pavilion sealed for good.

McKinney gave us one of our favorite jobs: a brick pavilion closed in with nine fixed screen panels in cedar frames and a cedar-framed screen door, so the whole structure is a screened room year-round. Fixed panels suit McKinney's pavilions and porches where nothing needs to move. We measure, make and install from Farmers Branch, about forty minutes up 75.

About 40 minutes from our Farmers Branch showroom, up 635 and 75.

The houses, and what suits them.

Brick and stone on larger lots, detached pavilions and deep porches, gables and chimneys that call for framed panels rather than rolls. Cedar frames on a brick pavilion; black aluminum on a painted house; motorized screens where the opening is wide and the view matters.

The fabric for McKinney

Light on light, dark for the view.

Black insect mesh in cedar or black frames for the fixed panels; for a motorized screen, a dark fabric on brick and a light one on painted or stone houses.

Questions from McKinney

What McKinney homeowners ask us first.

When are fixed panels the right choice?

When the opening never needs to open: a pavilion, a porch with a door, a gable end. A framed panel costs less than a motorized screen, has no motor to power, and seals the structure as a room. We mix them with motorized screens on the same patio when one opening needs to move.

Do I need HOA approval in McKinney?

Usually yes for anything on the exterior, and most associations approve screens on the rear elevation when the frame color matches the trim. We give you a one-page submittal with the frame color, the fabric and a photo of a similar installation, which is what the architectural committee wants to see.

Can screens go on a house that is already finished?

Yes, and most of our work is. The housing surface-mounts above the opening and the side tracks go on the face of the posts or jambs, with 120 V brought to the motor end. Recessed, hidden housings are for new construction, planned before the ceiling closes.

How long does it take?

Three to four weeks from the deposit to installation, most of it the screens being made to your measurements in Richardson. Installation is usually a day.
